I’ve shared the final painting without the magic turned on so you can see her without below: Everything done in Corel Painter 2020 with a Wacom Intuos tablet.Īnd lastly, just like with Vision where I gave him the blue-glowing synthezoid eyes, Wanda needed her magic effects here but they hide the detail work underneath. Just like with Vision I didn’t keep track of time since it was just a personal piece for relaxing, but it was probably about 12-15 hours to finish. More information on how I do this can be found in THIS post, and below is a GIF showing progress over time. I’ve compiled the main ones I used as my resources (the hands are from her Age of Ultron Hot Toys figure which I own - I took some liberties but used them as inspiration for all of her rings).įor her coat I used the cut of the one Lizzie is wearing in the photo reference, but I also wanted it to be reminiscent of one of my favourite comic looks for her found in the Tom King 2015 Vision run.Īs always once the resources and idea are ready I just followed my usual painting process. I layer the effects with various red ‘glow’ layers using different opacities and layer style effects to get the final result.Īs always I used a number of references of Elizabeth Olsen/Wanda to put this together. I have a ‘magic effect’ brush set in Corel Painter that came with the bundle when I purchased it and it’s *wonderful* for her ‘red wiggly-woos’. I also wanted to incorperate some of her magic to make it obvious it’s Scarlet Witch art not just a portrait of Lizzie. Hex!Vision also plays an important role there so the necklace is a nod to him for those who have read it. I really love the line in WandaVision where she tells the WestView Vision that he is “The piece of the Mind Stone that lives in me.” This is some meta I’ve delved into (and still am) in my fic ‘Working Theory’. The Mind Stone pendant was a later decision after thinking she needed something there in that space. Her freckles, all the jewellry she wears, the beautiful green/blue shade of her eyes. There are a number of elements I always reference when writing Wanda and that I think of when I write her. Just like the Vision one it’s a massive file with a ton of detail and I want to highlight some spots: And here is the breakdown for the Wanda Maximoff portrait I completed (which you can view the full image of HERE).
